Energy Assessment
Simple.

Navigating the way to cleaner energy, smaller CO2 footprints and greater efficiencies in the construction industry is a tricky one when you don't have the tools to succeed. It's like building a house without a tape measure, you can't be sure that once the house is finished everything will line up!

This is where Energy Ready is here to help. We want to support you in identifying your efficiency goals and help you measure the journey towards them so you can be sure your designs achieve everything you hoped for.

We do it well and we do it right!

4000+ Energy Assessments!

Energy Ready is a local family business on a mission to help the UK create a smaller carbon footprint and build a sustainable future for our kids and their kids too! Through commercial EPCs and domestic EPCs, SAP Calculations and SBEM Calculations as well as U-value Calculations for the building & construction industry, Energy Ready supports and guides in assessing the energy efficiency of buildings in Suffolk and across the rest of England and Scotland.

We have over 14 years of experience in energy assessment in our family. All together we have lodged well over 4000 Commercial EPC's to date! And with a huge network of assessors we have the ability to support the size of any project you have from level 1 buildings to the extreme requirements of level 5 commercial building assessment, Energy Ready is ready to guide.

Energy Ready is accredited by Elmhurst Energy, the UK's leading energy performance, sustainability and compliance regulators. We've been trained by Elmhurst themselves and by Stroma Energy and you can find us all over East Anglia and East London for 'as built' services and anywhere in the UK for 'as designed' services.

We look forward to working with you in the near future.

SAP Calculations

For domestic energy efficient home design including houses, flats, extensions and home improvement. Energy Ready works with home owners, architects, developers, construction managers and landlords to support the building design in Part L of the UK Building Regulations. We use the design plans to construct the proposed building and run energy efficiency scenarios through our government approved SAP Calculation software. Looking at factors such as thermal transmittance, air permeability, heating and lighting efficiencies, to name a few, we will work with our clients until they receive the SAP pass they need and support them in finding energy solutions from our extensive experience in the energy efficiency industry. SAP Calculations start from as little as £65 depending on the size of the project.

Commercial EPCs

As of April 1st 2023 every commercial building in the UK must have a valid EPC above an E rating in order to lease out the premises. Energy Ready will conduct a preliminary site visit, gathering all the information needed to create a model of the building. Using the latest government approved software (iSBEM), we test the building against efficiency factors such as amount of CO2 generated and the amount of energy used in a typical year. We assess the thermal transmittance of the walls, floor, roofs, glazing and doors to calculate energy loss throughout the building. The energy efficiency of the lighting, space heating and water heating are also calculated and applied to the model so we have a full understanding of the buildings energy useage. All of these factors are used to create the EPC in line with Part L of the current UK Building Regulations to understand the efficiency of the building and in turn produce a rating and a certificate (EPC). Commercial EPCs start from as little as £95 depending on the size of the project.

SBEM Calculations & BRUKL Reports
Icons SAP (1).png

At the design stage of a commercial building project building control may ask for an SBEM Calculation and a BRUKL Report. The BRUKL Report stands for Building Regulations UK Part L Report (BRUKL) and is a design stage assessment of the building to demonstrate that the buildings CO2 emissions rate (BER) is less than the target CO2 emissions rate (TER) and that the primary energy rate (BPER) is less than the target primary energy rate (TPER). These numbers are understood alongside the Building Regulation Part L requirement for the fabric u-values of the windows, doors, walls, floor, roof etc. Once these targets are all met the building receives a pass and construction of the design under part L of the building regulations for energy efficiency is approved. SBEM Calculations start from £195.

U-Value Calculations

Energy Ready also provides u-value calculations for design or as built stage, simply provide us with the drawings or descriptions of the build ups you would like for your wall, roof or floor and Energy Ready will calculate the thermal transmittance measured in W/m2K (Watts per metre squared Kelvin). If the design doesn’t meet your customers goals we are able to help suggest new layers or try different materials to get to your targets. We will always get to target and we provide our U-values from as little as £45 per calculation.

Energy Efficiency Consultancy

Even if there’s no mandatory reason to improve the efficiency of the building we have many clients who are simply trying to make their businesses or homes run more efficiently, reducing overheads, attaining CO2 reduction targets, and generally making the world a better place to live. We support building owners in finding the latest technologies, and adapting their buildings with new ideas and energy efficient solutions.
